Human Resource Manager job vacancy in Somerset West.

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to join a leading organisation within the aerospace and advanced manufacturing sector in Somerset West.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted strategic and operational HR partner to management, providing comprehensive HR support across the full employee lifecycle.

The role will have a strong focus on employee relations, performance management, talent development, organisational effectiveness and HR compliance.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys working in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment and is comfortable engaging with employees and management at all levels.

Salary: R60,000 CTC per month.

Key Responsibilities:

• HR Business Partnering
  • Partner with management and leadership to understand business and people requirements.
  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance on employee-related matters.
  • Align HR initiatives with business objectives.
  • Support managers in making sound, consistent and legally compliant people decisions.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
• Employee Relations
  • Provide guidance and support on disciplinary and grievance matters.
  • Manage and advise on employee relations cases in accordance with company policies and South African labour legislation.
  • Assist with conflict resolution, absenteeism, incapacity and performance-related matters.
  • Ensure the consistent and fair application of HR policies and procedures.
• Performance Management
  • Facilitate and support performance management processes.
  • Coach managers on effective performance management and development conversations.
  • Identify performance gaps and support appropriate improvement plans.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Talent Management & Development
  • Support talent management and succession planning initiatives.
  • Identify employee development and training requirements.
  • Assist with career development initiatives.
  • Support learning and development programmes.
• Recruitment & Employee Lifecycle
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing requirements.
  • Support recruitment, selection and onboarding processes.
  • Assist with workforce planning and talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Support promotions, transfers and employee exits.
• HR Policies, Processes & Compliance
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are effectively implemented and consistently applied.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant South African labour legislation.
  • Assist with HR reporting, analytics and people-related projects.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience.
• Organisational Development & Employee Engagement
  • Support employee engagement and organisational culture initiatives.
  • Contribute to change management and organisational development projects.
  • Promote positive, professional and high-performance working environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations or a related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in an HR Business Partner / HR Generalist role.
• Strong experience in employee relations and South African labour legislation.
• Experience partnering with management and senior stakeholders.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, automotive, FMCG or similar operational environment will be highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of performance management, talent management and organisational development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on.
• High level of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity.
