Practice Nurse (EN/RN) Full Time Job

Practice Nurse (EN/RN) – Wilgeheuwel. Roodepoort.

We are assisting our client, a Specialist Physician, in finding a dedicated and experienced Practice Nurse to join their practise.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, assisting the physician in various medical procedures, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.

The ideal candidate would be actively registered with SANC as either Enrolled or Registered Nurse and would live in close proximity to the practise, or be willing to relocate. This position involves both clinical and administrative duties and may require occasional evening or weekend work depending on patient needs.

R22 000 – R25 000 per month.

Minimum Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN) qualification.
• Current licensure and registration with relevant nursing board.
• Previous experience in a medical practice setting, preferably in a specialist physician’s office.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and clinical procedures.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with GoodX diary management system is advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

• Assist the physician with patient consultations, including taking vitals, wound care, ECG, and bloodwork.
• Stand in for the senior practice nurse as needed.
• Accompany the physician during hospital rounds to assist with inpatient care.
• Perform basic medical checks and procedures under the guidance of the physician.
• Manage and maintain medical equipment and supplies.

Administrative Duties:

• Utilize GoodX diary management system for scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
• Handle all administrative tasks related to both inpatient and outpatient services.
• Coordinate planned admissions and pre-operative reports.
• Manage emails, including responding to patient inquiries and communication with other healthcare providers.
• Organize and maintain patient files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Assist patients with insurance forms and claims processing.
