We are representing a leading international sportsbook, gaming, and technology business seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing Cape Town team.

What You Will Do:

As Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, optimisation, and support of critical online gaming infrastructure, ensuring maximum performance and availability.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Design and implement new infrastructure environments and platform setups
• Support infrastructure automation and continuous process improvement initiatives
• Test and evaluate new systems and services for production deployment
• Proactively monitor and support live and staging environments
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and platform issues
• Participate in software release and deployment activities
• Act as an escalation point for technical issues raised by support teams
• Manage incidents, service requests, problems, and change requests following ITIL best practices
• Perform detailed log, metrics, and root-cause analysis to identify and prevent recurring issues
• Collaborate with internal teams and third-party providers to ensure service reliability and performance

All About You:

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with strong Linux, cloud, and Kubernetes expertise, combined with excellent troubleshooting and operational support capabilities.

You will bring:

• Strong experience working within Linux-based environments
• Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
• Experience supporting and maintaining production infrastructure
• Strong networking knowledge and diagnostic capabilities
• Experience with Kubernetes in production environments (preferably GKE)
• Experience with cloud platforms including Google Cloud, AWS, Azure, or OpenShift
• Strong knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, APM, or similar
• Experience with logging and analytics tools such as Splunk or EFK
• Experience working with GitHub, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Highly Desirable:

• Experience within online gaming, sportsbook, or high-availability environments
• Exposure to cybersecurity monitoring and threat analysis
• Experience working with DNS, HTTPS certificates, and infrastructure automation
• Experience supporting large-scale cloud-native environments
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices
