Bookkeeper Full Time Job

Bookkeeper job vacancy in Goodwood, Cape Town.

Seeking a Bookkeeper with formal qualification or working towards a qualification and a proven full function bookkeeping to trial balance history, preferably in the credit or retail environment, required to join this retail and homewares business based in Goodwood, Cape Town.

Minimum requirements:

• Bookkeeping or accounting qualification advantageous – willing consider candidates working towards this qualification with the required experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years’ full bookkeeping/accounting experience essential
• Retail or credit environment experience advantageous
• SARS eFiling experience essential – VAT and Payroll returns
• Payroll experience required – Sage/Pastel Payroll
• Strong reconciliation experience essential

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Day to day finance function across 2 entities, to trial balance
• Full function bookkeeping to trial balance – capturing, processing, journals, reconciliations
• Bank, debtor and creditor reconciliations
• Cashbook
• Supplier and debtor admin
• VAT – Prepare and submit on SARS eFiling
• Payroll – monthly payroll run on Sage/Pastel Payroll
• PAYE, UIF, SDL
• EMP201 monthly, bi-annual EMP501 and annual IRP5/IT3(a)
• Create month-end management accounts
