My name is Sinovuyo Jack. I am originally from South Africa, the Eastern Cape, in the small town of Tsolo. I however spent most of my childhood in Ugie, attending primary school and high school at Ugie High School. I am applying for the Philosophy Lecturer position and any humanities position that matches my skills and experiences.
I completed a MA coursework Philosophy degree at the University of Witwatersrand; with a thesis in Metaphysics: Personal Autonomy and how it is made impossible by Racial Oppression.
I completed my undergraduate degree (BA. Cognitive Science) at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in 2015. I later completed an Honours degree in Philosophy in 2016. My majors have included Clinical Psychology, Neuropsychology, African Psychology, Philosophy of Mind, Linguistics, Metaphysics, African philosophy and Cognitive Science. I have since relocated to Johannesburg and worked in research departments for a variety of companies.
I have had experience as an Academic Tutor and Assistant, Executive Personal Assistant, a Junior Research Executive, a Behavioural Research Analyst for a bank and an Experience Associate contractually. In the past year I have been training as a Sangoma/traditional healers in the Xhosa, Nguni and Ndau ways.
These roles have played the greatest parts in exposing me to the working world, where client services mean just as much as the research task at hand. In these roles I have had the honour of being exposed to the following fields in research: Qualitative Research: Behavioural Science; Social Research; Market Research; Digital Marketing (UX Researcher & Social Listening/Tracking) and Teaching where my Behavioural Science background has played the biggest part.
I think this opportunity would be both challenging and rewarding. It will be testing to the things I am already familiar with and passionate about, while teaching me in areas I am yet to understand. I have a love for content writing, providing insights from research results, proofreading, teaching and referencing. I also have a passion for finding the truth: finding it, sharing it and making sure it is accurately received and effectively implemented for a greater good.
I have goals to playing a part in the development of the Generational wealth in the Eastern Cape. I want to play a role in making sure that every black girl in the Eastern Cape is educated and comfortable to explore the rest of the world. If I am not helping my retired parents on the farm during summer holidays, my biggest passion is making homemade jam, planting trees and entertaining my nieces and nephews.
I look very forward to hearing back from you.
I majored in African Philosophy, African Psychology, Cognitive Science and Philosophy of mind. I also did a Neuropsychology class out of curiosity.
I was part of the Loyalty and Rewards team.
I loved being part of the Qualitative research team and the Social tracking go-to person.
