    I hereby would like to apply for the position as advertised.

    I have more than 25 years of experience in the ICT field, among other things: Desktop, Network, Server, Cloud Computing, Data Centre, Infrastructure, and Telephony maintenance, management, and support.

    I have led a Software Development team of seven members to develop a software workflow application through its whole SDLC for Imperial Bank’s property finance division, as well as successfully managed Imperial Bank’s IT Support Desk, totaling 19 staff members with technicians across five sites in South Africa. I have set up a new Support Desk with all its policies and procedures while working on a project at the SARB.

    My ITIL certification has helped me to deliver satisfactory IT Service Delivery and assisted me in composing ITIL-based policies and procedures for another Imperial Bank and the SARB. Within Imperial Bank, I managed the Change Control discipline and was part of the same during our project at the SARB. At both of these two workplaces, I was a key member of the Disaster Recovery Teams and participated in more than one Disaster Recovery exercise. At Afritalk I managed the IT Risk and was part of the IT Risk Teams at Imperial Bank and the SARB.

    My COBIT certification helped me to deliver my services complying at a Corporate Governance level as set by our clients.

    I have my Advanced Certificate in Project Management through the University of Pretoria and have successfully managed or was involved in projects using Project Methodologies like Prince, PMBok, and Agile. Our projects at Afritalk involved working with International clients and vendors where I had to put SLA and OLA’s in place and manage them.

    Most of my career has been in a customer-facing environment where deadlines had to be met, and I have no problem traveling as part of my responsibilities.

    I come from a strong Insurance and Banking environment where Corporate Governance became part of my makeup. In my four years in the telecommunications sector, I had to use my ability to immediately change to different circumstances.

    I am an honest, trustworthy, hardworking, disciplined, structured, detailed, and friendly person who does not mind getting his hands dirty. I work just as well as being a team player, leading a team, or working on my own.

    I have my own transport and need to provide 1 months’ notice period.

    In my spare time, I enjoy watching Rugby and Motorsport and at times do some woodwork and cooking. Weekends are spent with the family and going to church.
