Toolmaker (Blanking Tool Fitter) required in Port Elizabeth.
Requirements:
- Toolmakers – blanking tool and maintenance/setup
- Minimum 5 years blanking tool/press shop experience
Key Performance Areas:
- Essential maintenance tasks for Toolmakers include:
- Routine inspection – checking clearance daily to maintain the optimal clearance gap and monitoring for unbalanced forces
- Regrinding – Surface grinding punch blades and dies by 0.05 mm to 0.0 mm per pass to eliminate dull edges and chipping
- Preventative cycles – Resharpening and servicing tools
- Component replacement – replace damaged stripping pins, springs, punch inserts, or dowels during teardowns
- Clearance and lubrication – Removing scrap/slug buildup and ensuring micro-lubrication or dry-film coatings are applied appropriately
