Technical Support Consultant – Johannesburg

A Technical Support Consultant (Fashion/Retail Industry) job vacancy is currently available in Sandton, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.

Salary: R8 000 – R9 000 per month (Negotiable)

A large and well known clothing brand based in Rivonia, Sandton are currently looking for a Technical Support Consultant to start as soon as possible, or immediately.

Working Hours: This is an operational role providing technical support to all branches in the retail industry (clothing stores), during office hours as well as after hours and on weekends on a rotational basis.

ADVANTAGE IF CANDIDATE COMES FROM THE RETAIL INDUSTRY.

Job Purpose:

The incumbent will be based in Johannesburg with regular travel around the Johannesburg and other nearby areas. The successful applicant will be reporting to the IT Manager.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required:

• Matric
• IT qualification is highly recommended (preferably with N+ and A+)
• Windows networking experience
• Must have at least 2 years’ experience in the IT field
• IT Technical Support background (essential)
• Ability to manage small projects independently to a conclusion.
• Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license (essential)
• Must be willing to work irregular hours and to travel long distances

Highly Preferable:

• Retail Experience
• Windows Support Experience
• Point of sale Experience
• Network Administration
• Network Cabling
• Printer Support Experience

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Repair, upgrade, configure and install desktop computers, point of sale systems, printers, other peripherals.
• Provide training to users on installed systems and software programs
• Support, troubleshoot and resolution of call outs.
• Head Office remote support and ticket administration.
