Software Developer – Pretoria

A Software Developer position is available at Tubecon in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa.

Software developers at Tubecon are the brains behind the design, installation, testing and maintenance of Tubecon’s software systems.

As software developer you will be working with a group of dynamic, bright and world class developers in Europe as well as in South Africa.

You will have the opportunity to have ownership of various IT projects and develop new and existing software.

You will also have the opportunity to learn the latest software development tools and expand on your existing software language knowledge using C++, C#, VB and SQL.

The software developer plays an important part in making Tubecon more efficient and helping Tubecon to provide a better service.

Technologies we extensively develop or develop with:

  • Windows, Linux, Android
  • SQL, mssql
  • C++, Java, Lua, Python
  • Mobile device technology, Web and online application development, Desktop database-based applications
  • PC based machine control, DIO/AIO-based distributed control
  • Ethernet and wifi networks

Your Profile:

  • Age between 18 and 25.
  • Looking for a first or second job.
  • Extensive proficiency in one or multiple programming languages and computer systems.
  • A passion for software development.
  • Good understanding of the English and Afrikaans language, both spoken and written.
  • If you have a formal education in programming then marks to be well above average.
  • Self taught candidates must be able to give evidence of what they have developed to date.

Your daily tasks:

  • Developing business information systems (Planning, quoting, stock control etc)
  • Developing web applications to load, manipulate and process 3d models
  • Developing android applications for all manner of automation.
  • Interacting with users to understand requirements and design solutions to solve problems.
  • Support the software you develop.
  • Interact with management to design and develop improvements to the companies operations.
