Senior Quality Coordinator – East London

Our client within the manufacturing sector seeks to appoint a skilled Senior Quality Coordinator for their East London branch. This candidate will also be involved in Purchasing functions, Logistics and projects and must be willing to be trained on such.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum 5 -10 years’ experience in a similar role or as a Quality Engineer
• Quality Management experience advantageous
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or in a related field
• Demonstrable experience of quality management within a technically- oriented manufacturing organisation
• Computer Proficiency: MS Word and Excel
• Familiar with ERP systems and CMMS Software

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Being management’s representative in matters concerning systematic quality, work environment and environmental work.
• Applicable routines regarding systematic quality, work environment and environmental work being developed, introduced, and maintained within the framework of the quality management system (internal and external)

Regarding the Quality System:

• Updating governing and accounting documents.
• Target monitoring, reporting, KPI, work instructions, drawings, PQP, standards maintained
• EHS, OHS, SHE rep and all relative requirements pertaining to these topics
• Risk assessments
• Maintain a list of current laws and regulations, including a list of chemicals.
• Supplier assessments of environmental & work environment-related suppliers.
• DEX (deviations, improvement, and measures).
• Education for all staff in quality system
• Purchase according to DOA.
• Plan and implement internal quality and 5S audits.
• Calibration of instruments, scales, and test equipment etc.
• ISO 9001-2015, 45000, 14000 implementation and maintenance
• Customer satisfaction
• Testing of product and materials in production, incoming and finished product inspections according to requirements.
• Filing all results for audit control
• Being tasked with assignments by the Production Manager/GM
• Management review yearly reporting
• Keep all KPI boards updated, and localized files updated monthly, local and international news
• Manage all monthly reporting – poor quality cost, material waste cost (scrap reporting), water, electricity etc

Fire protection management and inspection

• Comply with laws and regulations and perform control and follow-up.
• Make sure that routines and guidelines are in place for inspection and maintenance of the fire protection.
• Maintain control documents, written instructions, and other aids for fire protection.
• Follow-up routines for quality control of fire protection.
• Disseminate information regarding the requirements and the established policy to be met.
• Coordinate the fire protection work in the company.
• Establish training plans to ensure fire protection / personal protection.
• Issue permits for hot work.
• File all relating documents for audit control
• Organization, training and education.
• Represent the company in external supervision.
• Coordinate the fire protection routines within the premises.
• Deficiencies in self-monitoring are reported for action and follow-up of the measures.
• Documentation for risks and fire protection.
• Self-inspection of fire protection, and report fire incidents.
• Responsible for service of equipment.
• Evacuation planning and evacuation exercise.
• Medical box control, checks

REMUNERATION
Salary:  Monthly offering of R25 000.00 – R30 000.00 negotiable, subject to candidate experience.
