Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a candidate who is academically strong, analytical, detail-oriented and passionate about pursuing a career as a Chartered Accountant. The successful candidate will receive practical exposure to a broad range of accounting and financial services while working alongside experienced professionals.

The role will provide the opportunity to develop practical knowledge and experience across accounting, auditing, taxation and advisory assignments, while building strong professional and client relationships.

Minimum Requirements:

• B. Com Accounting, B.Acc or equivalent SAICA-accredited qualification
• Must meet the academic requirements to register for a SAICA training contract
• Must be proficient in Afrikaans, with the ability to read, speak and write the language confidently
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Professional and ethical approach to work
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Position Responsibilities:

• Assisting with accounting and bookkeeping assignments for a diverse portfolio of clients
• Assisting with audit engagements and related fieldwork
• Preparing and maintaining accurate audit working papers and supporting documentation
• Assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements
• Assisting with tax calculations and relevant tax returns
• Performing reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
• Processing and reviewing financial information
• Assisting with monthly accounting and financial reporting requirements
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records and working papers
• Assisting senior team members with accounting, audit, tax and advisory assignments
• Ensuring that all work is completed accurately and in accordance with applicable standards and internal procedures
• Communicating professionally with clients and colleagues
• Assisting with queries and providing support to clients where required
• Developing a sound understanding of accounting and financial processes across various industries
• Performing general administrative duties relating to accounting and audit engagements
• Continuously developing technical knowledge and practical accounting skills throughout the training contract
