PR and Social Media Manager Full Time Job

PR and Social Media Manager – Sandton, Johannesburg.

We are looking for a PR and Social pro who can turn strategy into headlines, conversations and measurable impact. You’ll be the connective tissue between the brand, the media, executives, and online communities.

What you’ll do:

• Own the PR strategy end to end: messaging, narratives, thought leadership and proactive storytelling across South Africa and select African markets.
• Build and nurture strong media relationships: editors, journalists, producers, influencers and industry analysts—especially in business, tech and consumer beats.
• Run a busy press office: media lists, pitching, interview prep, briefing docs, op-eds, Q&As, and quick-turn responses when the news cycle moves.
• Social media account management across key channels (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook): content calendars, community management, and performance optimisation.
• Partner with executives for speaking opps, bylines and media training; prep talking points that sound like humans, not robots.
• Support issues and crisis comms with calm, clarity and speed.

What makes you great:

• 3-5 yrs years in PR/comms and social media management, ideally with corporate or agency experience servicing large brands.
• Sharp writing skills: press releases, op-eds, scripts, captions and long-form—all clean, concise and on-tone.
• Comfortable handling exec comms and sensitive topics with discretion.
• Bonus points for: B2B experience, financial services/tech exposure.
