Mid/Senior Java Developer – Cape Town

A Mid/Senior Java Developer position is available in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.

This role is permanent, remote or on-site.

JAVA Developer (Front & Back-End):

  • Involved in a team of senior executives, engineers and product managers to discuss and develop low and high-level complex system architectures and service pieces.
  • Experience designing and developing software using Java8, MySQL, Microservices, Azure Service Fabric, Angular2, RabbitMQ (MassTransit), Docker, GIT and Amazon Web Services.
  • Architecting and implementing a micro-service based e-commerce platform with custom components:
  • Services, Licences, Filters, User authentication, Subscriptions components, Billing, Cybersecurity etc.
  • Plan, design and execute the migration of a set of complex Azure based applications to a micro-service based cloud platform such as AWS.
  • Implement Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) with Docker, GIT
  • Speed up existing applications

Requirements / Experience:

  • Degree / Hons
  • 4 years or more JAVA development experience
  • 2 yrs+ AWS experience
  • Microservice experience
  • Relational database experience
  • DEV OPS a plus
  • Any experience building e-commerce payment platforms a bonus
