Luxury Textile Production Manager required in Johannesburg.
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to join a well-established luxury lifestyle brand in Johannesburg.
The successful candidate will lead production operations, ensure exceptional quality standards and drive operational excellence across in-house and outsourced manufacturing teams.
Location: Randburg, Johannesburg.
Salary: R30,000 – R35,000 per month (negotiable based on experience).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Production Management
- Manage daily production activities, including cutting, sewing, finishing and packaging.
- Ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved.
- Coordinate in-house teams and external CMT partners.
- Support production readiness for new collections.
- Quality & Compliance
- Maintain high quality standards across all products.
- Monitor quality inspections and address defects.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Maintain adherence to approved samples and specifications.
- Planning & Coordination
- Work closely with Product Development and Planning teams.
- Ensure materials and equipment are available before production starts.
- Support capacity planning and pre-production approvals.
- Assist with seasonal launches and pilot runs.
- Inventory & Reporting
- Monitor raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
- Support accurate stock control and ERP data management.
- Prepare daily and weekly production reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and motivate production teams.
- Train staff on quality standards and best practices.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify development needs.
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Fashion Manufacturing, Textile Technology or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in textile, apparel or soft furnishings manufacturing.
- Experience managing cutters, machinists and CMT partners.
- Strong understanding of quality control and production processes.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as Sage.
- Good knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
