Are you an energetic, self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Do you have intermediate Excel skills, a keen interest in the FMCG industry, and a natural aptitude for working with numbers?
Our client in Elsies River has a dynamic buying department and their team is growing. They are looking for a Junior FMCG Buyer with previous stock management experience, a strong numerical mindset and the confidence to proactively follow up with suppliers.
In this role you will source products, negotiate pricing, manage purchase orders, monitor stock levels, and support the team in making commercially driven buying decisions.
Full training will be offered.
Junior FMCG Buyer Requirements:
- Matric, or equivalent qualification
- Relevant Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Management or a related field
- Up to 2 years’ relevant experience in FMCG, distribution or wholesale
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and other computer literacy
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and highly organised
- Valid SA driving license and own reliable vehicle
- ADVANTAGEOUS:
- Buying or procurement exposure
- Experience working with ERP or stock management systems
- Understanding of stock, GP, margins and purchasing
- Previous internship or graduate programme experience
Junior FMCG Buyer Responsibilities:
- Capture and maintain purchase orders
- Track deliveries and outstanding purchase orders
- Monitor stock levels and identify potential stock risks
- Assist with stock analysis, slow-moving stock and aged inventory
- Follow up with suppliers regarding orders, deliveries and outstanding issues
- Monitor pricing, promotions and supplier deals
- Assist with invoice, credit and stock-related queries
- Maintain accurate buying records and documentation
- Capture and reconcile information across internal systems and prepare reports
- Communicate with warehouse, finance, sales and operations teams
- Follow up on outstanding action points and ensure deadlines are met
- Provide general administrative support to the buying department
