Half Day Bookkeeper – Johannesburg

A Half Day Bookkeeper position is available in Roodepoort, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa.

R7 000 – R9 000 per month, negotiable

Duration: Contract, 4 months

Financial Services company with offices based in both Johannesburg and Cape Town are looking for a half day Bookkeeper who would be responsible for maintaining the financial records of a company by recording the day to day financial transactions.

Working hours for this role are 08:00 – 13:00 daily.  This position could be adjusted to a permanent, full day role after 4 months, with a salary increase to R13 000 per month, negotiable.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate qualification in accounting, finance or business is an advantage
• Good knowledge of bookkeeping practices is vital for success
• Knowledge of GAAP principles and procedures
• Knowledge of data management and financial data analysis
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and Sage Pastel Partner

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Check and verify source documents such as invoices, receipts and computer printouts
• Allocate and post financial transaction details to subsidiary books
• Transfer data to General Ledger
• Reconcile and balance all bank accounts daily
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Prepare payments on all bank accounts
• Assist with monthly journals and month end entries
• Assist with audits
• Maintain complete filing system to support financial records
