Our client is seeking an exceptional General Manager to take overall responsibility for the business and play a key role in its continued growth and development.

This is not a highly corporate, “desk-bound” management position – it is an opportunity for a hands-on all-rounder who enjoys being involved in the business, making decisions, solving problems and driving results.

Importantly, the successful candidate will be positioned for long-term career progression and succession into a more senior leadership role.

Salary: R70 000 to R80 000 per month, negotiable commensurate with qualification and experience.

• Drive sales, business development, key account management and customer relationships
• Oversee suppliers, product branding and commercial relationships
• Lead and manage mergers, acquisitions and business negotiations
• Negotiate contracts and identify new business opportunities
• Take ownership of budgets, gross profit, financial statistics and business performance
• Prepare and present meaningful financial and operational information at management meetings
• Build and nurture strong, long-standing relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders
• Identify opportunities for growth, improvement and increased profitability
• Think strategically while remaining firmly connected to the day-to-day operation of the business

Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma qualified
• An experienced General Manager or senior business leader, preferably with a technical/commercial background
• A strong all-rounder with solid business acumen
• Entrepreneurial, commercially minded and results driven
• A natural leader with a hands-on approach

• Comfortable negotiating contracts and managing significant business transactions

Culture and fit:

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys people, business and an active lifestyle and who will embrace a highly social, relationship-driven company culture.

The ideal individual will be comfortable in both the boardroom and the field – commercially sophisticated enough to manage the numbers and negotiations, yet practical and down-to-earth enough to roll up their sleeves and get involved.
