Financial Controller Full Time Job

Financial Controller position available in Cape Town.

Our commercial client in Retail is looking for a Financial Controller to operational efficiency, and compliance across multiple stores while partnering with operations to drive profitability.

Location: Cape Town Waterfront.

Hybrid role (1-2 days at home) Early working hours for traffic.

Salary up to R50 000 – R60 000 per month.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Completed SAICA Articles / SAIPA or CIMA
• 2-3 years post-articles/ saipa/ cima experience – negotiable
• Strong knowledge of SARS compliance
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with accounting systems (Pastel, Sage, Xero, etc.)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage creditors, debtors, and 3 accounting staff (Payroll, Debtors and Senior Accountant)
• Prepare and present monthly financial results per store and consolidated group
• Analyze profitability (sales, costs, labor, overheads)
• Monitor key cost drivers including labor, and expenses
• Ensure accurate daily sales reconciliation and cash control processes
• Ensure SARS compliance (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax)
• Oversee audit readiness and internal controls
• Develop and maintain SOPs for finance and store processes
• Design and enhance financial and operational reporting
  Monitor cash flow and working capital across stores
