Finance Integration Manager job vacancy in Cape Town.

Finance Integration Manager to join a remote team (based in Cape Town) of a Top 40 UK accountancy firm, to ensure core functions of Financial due diligence, modelling, controls and finance transitions; Synergy tracking, billing/WIP/debt, MI and cost analysis are delivered.

Reports to COO (UK), professionally aligned to UK Finance Director/CFO.

Purpose:

Combine strong finance capability with disciplined project management to lead financial diligence, modelling and the controlled transition of each acquired practice into Group finance operations. Senior implementation role, with direct access to a UK COO, meaningful ownership and exposure to a fast acquisition program.

You Need:

• Solid relevant experience spanning finance operations, management accounting, financial analysis, transaction support, integration or finance transformation.
• Transaction services, audit, practice finance, post-merger integration or multi-entity finance transformation.
• Advanced Excel + ability to interrogate imperfect ledger, billing, WIP and client-level data.
• Accountancy-practice experience, particularly familiarity with recurring fees, WIP, recoverability, lock-up and partner remuneration structures.

To Do:

• Plan and deliver proportionate financial diligence across historic and current trading, revenue and client concentration, recurring fees, WIP, debtors, write-offs, cash, working capital, payroll, partner/owner costs, leases, supplier commitments, capex, provisions and liabilities; escalate specialist quality-of-earnings or accounting matters where required.
• Build acquisition and integration models covering normalised performance, cash requirements, cost-to-integrate, synergy opportunities, sensitivity analysis and phasing.
• Reconcile source data to accounts and management information; document assumptions, limitations and unexplained differences.
• Design finance transition plan for banking, authorities, purchase-to-pay, billing, collections, WIP, credit control, payroll interfaces, expenses, fixed assets, VAT/tax hand-offs, chart of accounts, reporting and month-end.
• Establish Day 1 financial controls, approval limits, segregation of duties, opening balances, cut-off rules and reporting responsibilities.
• Track integration costs and benefits against the approved case and explain variances.
• Hand over reconciliations, controls, reporting calendars, outstanding balances and residual actions to BAU finance owners.

Core Accountabilities:

• Complete proportionate first-pass due diligence, identify missing evidence and distinguish a red flag from a post-completion action.
• Translate findings into a costed, sequenced integration plan with owners, dependencies, decision dates and acceptance criteria.
• Manage multiple acquisitions concurrently using a common PMO method, RAID log, decision log, change control and weekly status reporting.
• Work confidently with UK partners, acquired-firm owners, local office teams, professional advisers and suppliers across video, written and telephone channels.
• Maintain complete, audit-ready evidence and handle employee, client, financial and security information with strict confidentiality.
• Escalate early, state business impact clearly and offer practical choices rather than merely reporting a problem.
• Own hypercare exit and secure explicit acceptance from the receiving BAU owner.

Team Competencies & Value expertise:

• Diligence, hands-on delivery, disciplined documentation and senior stakeholder management. Value is speed, consistency, evidence and delivery control
• Solid experience, including ownership of cross-functional change, integration, implementation, audit or transition activity.
• Evidence of working independently in a remote, deadline-led environment and handling several workstreams without close supervision.
• Strong written English, disciplined documentation and the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders respectfully.
• Commercial judgement: able to balance risk, cost, speed, employee experience and client continuity.
• MS 365, Teams, SharePoint, Excel and structured project / portfolio tools.
• Availability for substantial overlap with UK working hours and occasional extended coverage around completion, payroll or technical cutover.
