Cable and Wireless Installer – Centurion

A Cable and Wireless Installer position is available in Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa.

R10 000 – R20 000 depending on experience

Duration: Permanent

As the Structured Cable and Wireless Installer, you will install, maintain and repair network cables, conduct site surveys and thorough inspections of network cables to ensure the best-practice methods are in place. The ideal candidate will have the ability to meet immovable deadlines.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric
• Flook Network Testers, Qualification and Certification tests beneficial
• Indoor Wireless install 3-5 years plus
• Cambium CNPilot Certification preferred
• Ubiquity Certification preferred
• MTCNA Mikrotik Certification preferred
• Data-networks CAT3/5/6 E: 5 years
• Fibre Install or knowledge will be beneficial
• Own transport and valid driver’s license required, transport will be supplied when working offsite

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, repair network cables
• Conduct site surveys and build survey documents for wireless and cable installs
• Setup and install Wireless Access Points
• Conduct thorough inspections of network cables to ensure the best-practice methods are in place
• Pull, route, or label CAT5, CAT6, and Fibre cable
• Install various support structures, including cable racks, j-hooks, inner duct, and other related structures
• Communicate and collaborate with other members of the IT Support service team to resolve complex issues
• Provide high-quality service to all customers
• Must be able to scope large onsite WIFI solutions
• Integral understanding of wireless infrastructure builds
• Ability to meet immovable deadlines
• Possess a good team spirit and have the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Taking the initiative to identify and resolve problems
• Scope large data network
