A Johannesburg based software company seeks a Visual Basic / VB6  Application Developer to join their team.

It is ESSENTIAL to have VB6 application development experience, 60% of work focus on VB Systems

Experience:

• IT related qualification will be an advantage.
• 3+years of experience in Visual Basic / VB6 and application development as well as 2 years or more in Visual Basic.Net.
• Experience in developing enterprise applications is key for this position.

Responsibilities:

• 1. Spend 40% of your time developing leading edge solutions in Visual Basic.Net and ASP.Net on .Net Framework 3.5 using Visual Studio 2008 including WPF and 60% on Visual Basic systems.
• 2. Meet the needs of clients but also allow developers the opportunity to leverage of existing expertise whilst mastering the newer Microsoft technologies.
• 3. Backend solutions are mostly Oracle based with some systems using SQL Server; however experience on Oracle is not mandatory as we will ease the transition to Oracle.
• 4. Involved in the full SDLC and will be required to liaise with clients, understand requirements and be part of the solution design, as well as being responsible for building the solutions.
