Job Specification

The client is a market leader in the South African micro-finance industry and is currently rewriting all of its internal legacy systems using the Microsoft technology stack, including technologies such as SQL Server 2008/2012, .NET 4, C#, WCF, ASP.NET, MVC.NET and EF. 

Your role will be to join a small  team and help accelerate this rewrite, as well as architect and code many new and varied systems. You will need to be intimately familiar and experienced with the Microsoft development stack, as well as have a good understanding of accounting principles.

• Minimum 3 years experience with a proven track record of successfully delivering software systems, using all of the following technologies:
  • All aspects of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and T-SQL (i.e. security, day-to-day management, bulk copy, replication, mirroring, clustering, stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, etc.).
  • Knowledgeable in database design and database principles (data normalization, foreign keys, primary keys, constraints, indexes).
  • A solid foundation in OO principles, design patterns, knowledge of distributed system architectures.
  • An in-depth understanding of .NET and the new .NET 4 features and functionality.
  • Extensive Microsoft WCF experience (WCF SSL base communications- both CA and self-signed based experience will be highly valued).
  • Latest ASP.NET and MVC.NET.
  • Visual Studio 2010.
  • SCM systems.
  • TDD methodologies.

• Clipper / Harbour / xHarbour / dBASE development experience.
• ACCPAC ERP 5.x knowledge.
• jQuery / JavaScript / AJAX.
