Minimum Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in either software engineering or computer science.
- Minimum of 1 year Linux experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in C and C++.
Recommended Competencies/ Skills:
- Micro processor programming experience
- Experience in embedded systems will be an advantage
- Hardware experience will be an advantage
- During product development phase maintain and ensure compliance with software development process and documentation
- Assist in the scoping, planning and control of software projects (generating software metrics)
- Provide independent assurance that the software has been developed and tested to the agreed specifications and standards and meets customer requirements
- Familiar with both commercial and military software process and standards (e.g. MIL 498, DO-178B, MISRA)
Key responsibilities include inter alia:
- Programming the micro using C/ C++ running Linux
- Write, test, debug and maintain computer programmes
- Conceive, designs and test logical structures
- Formal release and change control of software products
- Corrective action in response to problem reports
- Support the continuous improvement of software processes
