This is a permanent skilled level position in Claremont, Cape Town.

Our client is looking for a Security Engineer based in Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities:

• Security design & assessment of ip networks - LAN & WAN
• Regular security auditing & testing - internal and external
• Firewall configuration, monitoring and maintenance - Cisco, Microsoft, Linux, other
• Sound understanding of network protocols - eg. GRE, SMTP, HTTP
• Basic understanding of encryption and security algorithms - eg. IPSEC with 3DES, SHA, MD5
• Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Malware etc
• Intrusion Detection
• Wireless security
• Responsibilities cover full security of all aspects of technology used in our environment and aligned with that of financial institutions
• Loves technology

Advantage if sound knowledge of the following:

• Linux
• Bash shell scripting with workable knowledge of vi
• Microsoft operating platforms and services
• VMWare Virtual Infrastructure (ESX)
• Hardware
