A fantastic opportunity exists with one of South Africa’s Investment holding Companies. They are looking to expand their Business Development Team by recruiting a Test Analyst, who will explore new products and efficiencies and assist with projects to implementation. This person will be responsible for business specifications, technical and business testing and post implementation monitoring of software developments

Requirements:
- Tertiary degree or diploma in a relevant numerical/ analytical/ scientific/ financial/IT related field of study.
- ISEB Foundation Certification in Software Testing advantageous.
- 2 years’ experience as a Software Tester - 1 year if completed Software Testing Certificate
- Preference will be given to experience with VModel testing methodology.
- Knowledge/ experience in system life cycle development
- Microsoft Office, MS SQL Server 2008
- Unit and automation testing advantageous
- Self-motivated, Delivery focussed, Analytical, Strong written and verbal communication skills, Must be detail orientated, Dedicated, hardworking, and a self-starter, Excellent organisational skills, Strong work ethic, independence and dependability.

- Sound knowledge and experience in technology environment

Key Performance Areas
1. Analyse new product and process requirements
- Analyse the business requirements to ensure a thorough understanding of what needs to be tested.
2. Draft business specifications and test plans
- Create test cases from business requirement specifications
- Test the specifications and plans in order to assess whether it functions as is required
3. Testing
- Thorough understanding of the software testing lifecycle in the SDLC
- Understand the test levels within the V-model
- Design and execute regression and integration test, stress and load testing, user acceptance testing.
- Identifying, logging and verifying defects in a bug tracking system.
- Ensure that product and processes are working and have been tested in all aspects
- Knowledge/ experience in testing of MS SQL Server 2008
- Testing of SQL developed systems
- Testing via user front end and back end SQL scripts
4. Provide product support to users
- Assist users where needed in using the product efficiently
- Effective communication to users regarding new and changed functionality
- Assist in compilation of training material.
5. Provide feedback
- Regular progress updates to line manager
- Provide feedback to line manager
- Provide feedback and input to developers on a regular basis
- Communicate system errors with developers.
