Network Engineer
This is a permanent skilled level position in Stellenbosch, Cape Town.
Requirements:
- A relevant technical telecom qualification (CCNA) with router experience or ideally a diploma or degree in Information Technology with two years experience.
- Experience in routers and routing, LAN switches and technologies.
- Knowledge of routing and switching concepts.
- Telkom background preferred although not compulsory.
- Communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Negotiation and presentation skills
- The ability to work accurately and methodically.
- Analytical skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure.
- Team player.
- Provide innovative and creative Telecomm solutions.
Duties:
· Deliver telecommunications services and support according to service level agreements (SLAs).
· Implement services and solutions according to agreed designs and specifications.
· Ensure network uptime is optimised according to the agreed SLAs.
· Minimise service disruptions to branch, roaming and head office users.
· Coordinate problem resolution effectively with suppliers.
· Provide third level telecommunications support to IT personnel.
· Generate and deliver reports and statistics.
· Liaise and negotiate with suppliers.
· Perform basic administrative functions.
