Junior Oracle DBA

Our Client a Sandton based Financial Services Company is looking for a Junior DBA to support Oracle databases and ensure their performance, availability and security. 

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting Oracle databases 
• Monitoring database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime
• Pro-active maintenance on all databases supported
• Work closely with development team

Required skills and experience

• Relevant IT Degree or Diploma
• Minimum 2 years Oracle database administration experience
• 2 years UNIX shell scripting experience
• Workflow, backup and recovery experience
• UNIX administration skills
• SQL development skills
• Database performance tuning
• Ability to manage multiple, concurrent issues and work under pressure
