This is permanent junior / skilled level position in Century City, Cape Town.

Requirements:

• A B.Sc, B.Com or B.Bus.Sci degree majoring in Computer Science, or
• An Electrical Engineering degree with Computer Science at 3rd year level, or
• A B.Tech degree with at least 2 years experience as full time developer in a professional development team.
• In all cases, experience as a full time developer in a professional development team or an Honours degree in (or higher) in Computer Science, will be advantageous.

Skills:

• Excellent object-oriented analysis, design and development skills.
• Experience using an OO language such as Java or C++. Java expertise with J2SE experience is preferred.
• Sound understanding of relational databases and SQL, including experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• A commitment to quality.
• The ability to work well in a team.
• The ability to communicate effectively - both verbal and written communication.

Advantageous:

• Experience using Python.
• DB2 LUW experience.
• AIX (ideally version 5) experience.
• EFT industry experience.
