IT Support Engineer

We are on the hunt for an IT Engineer to meet the follow requirements for our client.

Our client is a Johannesburg based IT Support Company (based in Paulshof) currently recruiting for a  2nd Tier Support engineer, the role is client focused, the ideal candidate will need to be totally committed, presentable, well-spoken and have the drive to go the extra mile. The candidate should have a valid driver’s license for the use of our company vehicles. Technical Skills will be tested during interview.

 

Minimum requirements:

  • Matric certificate
  • National Diploma IT, A+/N+ equivalent
  • 2 years working experience in desktop and server environment
  • Any experience in the Helpdesk environment or Server (2011) installation environment will be beneficial.

 

Major responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the Helpdesk – take and respond to calls within the agreed SLA’s
  • New Server and Desktop Installations
  • General IT related support, including but not limited to; printers, networking, email, internet connectivity, Virtualisation, VPN’s and User Mobility..
  • Support our Client base “face to face” as well as remote assistance
  • Liaise with Telkom and manage client uptime
  • New Network installations, patching and terminations.
  • To work closely with immediate management.
  • Investigation / Research / regular study of the latest trends / developments in the industry to identify key actions to improve effectiveness, usability and functionality of our clients IT infrastructure.
