A Property Management Company in Cape Town CBD requires an IT Manager to have overall accountability for providing IT Network Services to the Group’s Business.

Duties: 

• Manage IT operations and staff with the aim to achieve IT objectives and reduce costs.
• Manage infrastructure design, implementation, configuration, backups and maintenance on hardware and software
• 2 direct reports – manage, assign and monitor work
• Manage Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning and testing
• IT Infrastructure project management.
• Hardware/software related queries
• Minimise the adverse effect on the business of incidents and problems caused by errors in the infrastructure, and proactively prevent the occurrence of incidents, problems and errors.
• Manage IT Support desk: central point of contact between the user and IT Management to handle incidents and requests, and provide an interface for user and IT Management.
• Management of telephone systems
• Management of access control / security systems
• Maintenance and/or acquisition of all electronic equipment

Essential Requirements:

• Matric
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year university or college with concentration in Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Science.
• Minimum of 5 years related experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering, planning and  implementing LAN's / WAN's.
• Experience and ability in managing multiple servers with emphasis on maintaining existing infrastructure.
• Good knowledge of networking (including protocols, wireless and wired)
• Knowledge of Mikrotech Routers,  IT infrastructure, networks, applications and IT concepts
• Linux knowledge (including firewalls, DNS server, DHCP server, thin clients and web server management)
• Good working knowledge of Novell
• Physical computer maintenance knowledge and experience
• Customer focused with good planning, analytical thinking, business acumen and organising skills
• Action oriented and good decision-making skills
• Sound management ability
• Must be adaptable, thrive under pressure & have ability to work in face paced environment
