My client in Parktown is looking for a Network/Systems Engineer to provide application and escalation support for their networking and communications function. The day to day operational function for this position includes but not limited to Symantec Anti-Virus, Microsoft SQL & Biztalk and other application support.
Qualifications and experience
- Relevant Enterprise experience
- Current MCSE/MCITP
- ITIL Foundation Course
- Cisco CCNA would be advantageous
- 3-5 years experience in an escalation role
Key roles and responsibilities:
Escalation, management, monitoring and administration of the following services:
- Anti-Virus Application (SEP)
- Microsoft SQL and Biztalk
- Limited Pastel ,Accys, Retain and Clix Support
- Backup for Microsoft CRM, SCOM
- Escalations for Network related problems
- Participation in Disaster Recovery exercises
Administration duties as required
- Updating or the creation of new documentation for the areas of responsibility
- Managing calls in Footprints in accordance with defined SLA’s
- Provide monthly reporting for reporting pack
Vendor Management
- Where applicable liaise with vendors for areas of responsibility
- Manage vendor to achieve SLA objectives
After hours flexibility
- When required, the role requires the individual to be available after hours
