The successful candidate will be responsible for Cognos report writing and administrative tasks in the Cognos environment – for example Cube building.

• Day to day development of Cognos environment;
• Perform Cognos development tasks including security, software installations, configuration updates and troubleshooting environment; • Senior level follow-up for technical issues and will serve as first level contact for all maintenance/support issues; • Provides Cognos application support to the Business Units; • Research and resolve Cognos technical issues; • Collaborates with BI Systems Architect to design and develop efficient operational procedures; • Ensures that the application environment supports the business requirements; • Collaborates with IT Operations to solve potential problems; • Defines and analyzes new technical requirements and software releases and performs ongoing capacity planning; • Assists the Cognos development team in performing performance tuning and security layer; • Design, develop, troubleshoot, debug and implement Business Intelligence reporting solutions using COGNOS suite; • Perform detailed documentation of design, development, testing and deployment activities necessary to ensure team knowledge sharing; • Deliver advanced/ complex reporting solutions such as creating Dashboards, Scorecards and Standardized Reporting (including the bursting of reports globally) |

• BSc Comp Sc/ BSc Info Systems or equivalent tertiary qualification
• The applicant MUST have 3-5 years relevant Cognos experience.
