Over the last 18 years Space Age Technologies has built an enviable reputation in the SME-focused IT industry of Cape Town.  Not only do many role-players in the IT industry regard us as the leaders in terms of solutions and ability to provide top-class services, but we also manage to attract, develop and retain many of the best IT skills in the Cape, year on year.  Using this solid foundation the business is now ready to embark on the next phase of its strategy of delivering “Relevant IT” services to our clients by developing an in-house Business Intelligence (BI) Competence designed to extract meaningful information from data at affordable costs.  To achieve this we need to appoint the “perfect person” and have resolved ourselves to continue looking for however long it may take to find this individual.  Why so long, you may ask?  Well, firstly because we know how difficult it is to develop a new competency (we have done that many times so far) and secondly because we are very particular about the type of people we employ.

What we are looking for…

As the first dedicated BI Consultant at Space Age Technologies you will be a “Jack of all Trades” with all-around abilities to help establish the BI competency and build this into one of our premier offerings.  Initially this will include everything from selling, architecting, developing and supporting BI solutions based on Microsoft and Tableau software, but over time and as the team grows may evolve into either a more specialised role or even a leadership position.  Some of the things you will be doing include…

• Becoming an expert in the features, benefits and application of our Business Intelligence solution stack, in particular Tableau Software, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft SQL technologies
• Conducting prospect needs analysis, data reviews, and product demonstrations
• Handling all aspects of the BI sales process (quoting, presenting, closing) in response to incoming customer requests.  This will include talking holistically about the broader set of services Space Age Technologies offers.
• Providing billable professional services to conceptualise, implement and support all aspects of BI solutions promised to customers.
• Being instrumental in establishing BI as a core competence of the business
